About the Print - Dabu printing is an ancient, mud-resist hand-block printing technique from Rajasthan, characterized by a unique process that uses a special mud paste to create intricate patterns on fabric. Artisans apply this resist paste, made from clay, gum, and other natural ingredients, using carved wooden blocks. After the paste dries, the fabric is dyed in natural colors; the dried mud prevents the dye from penetrating, leaving behind the printed design when the mud is washed away.
